Well friends we are living in Pakistan; a country, which got independence after a long struggle and efforts of our brave leaders. Now it is 62 years old. We should be proud of our then leaders that gave us a state to live in a free life. The governments came and passed but most of the time an army dictator ruined the constitution and took over the government by force. Four army chiefs ruined the democratic norms and took over the government and still nobody was there to ask them about their actions. Gen. Musharraf the ex-army chief and the past president of Pakistan is one of the example.
He ruined the law; forcefully he sent the then prime minister into jail and enforced emergency in the country. This was his first violation. Later he became the president of Pakistan. During his presidency he crossed his limits by abrogating the constitution twice.
He imposed the emergency on 3rd November 2007. This act was highly condemned by the democratic forces in the country.
He not only abrogated the sacred document of the state but also did such actions, which were cruel and ruthless in nature i.e. “Lal Masjid Operation”, and killing of Bugti (the Baloch leader). He not only violated the constitution but also attacked on the 3rd most important pillar Judiciary. A new movement started after this action by not only the lawyers but by the civil society against Musharraf. Another incident that occurred during his regime was the approval of NRO. It was a blunder of his government due he also had to leave the government.
So this kind of person should not be let run away without any charge or punishment. He violated the constitution and anyone who violates the constitution is under the charge of high treason and the punishment according to the article 6 of the constitution is death or life imprisonment. He must be trailed so that in future no general could dare violate the constitution again.

AFGHAN ELECTIONS 2009
Everybody is very hopeful regarding the current presidential elections in Afghanistan. About 41 candidates took part in the elections that were held 20th august 2009. The US government as well as the NATO forces had done preparations in order to tackle the taliban insurgency. Taliban had already threatened the Afghan government that they would not let the so-called elections be carried out peacefully. Taliban threatened the people in Afghanistan not to cast their vote otherwise they would face serious consequences. The US troops and the NATO forces ensured the foolproof security measures in Kabul and other parts on the Election Day. On the other hand Pakistani government was told to seal its western borders as it was also a part of the security measures.
During election the turnout was not satisfactory though the western media and the UN officials highlighted the turn out as satisfactory. The women turn out was more or less 1% in the elections as they were scared of taliban reaction, as they had done in the past elections. The taliban had thrown acid on some of the ladies who had casted their votes in the past elections.
Elections took place and in the first round both the strong candidates i.e. the incumbent president Mr. Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah have claimed their victory. However, according to the results Nr. Karzai has a slighter edge on his opponent Abdullah Abdullah. Abdullah Abdullah put strong allegations that of rigging in the elections on the incumbent president. According to him, the election was a complete fraud.
On the other hand, Pakistan being a neighbor country of Afghanistan has deep concerns regarding the elections. Pakistan is waiting to see that who would be the next president of Afghanistan. Both the strong candidates, Mr. Karzai and Abdullah Abdullah are pro India. As far as Mr. Karzai is concerned, he has been judged in the past and Pakistani government is now used to him. But Abdullah Abdullah could be more dangerous because he was from a party that is anti Pakistan. Well right now Pakistani government focus more on the elections for bringing stability in Afghanistan, as it is in the interest of Pakistan as well.

US LOSING WAR IN AFGHANISTAN
Seven years have passed since US troops deployed in Afghanistan. US with its allies & NATO forces are busy containing the Taliban and Al-Qaeeda forces. The western troops are trying their level best to clear the region from the so-called Taliban but in spite of all their efforts, the Taliban and Al-Qaeeda are gaining more control each day. According to the CIA chief Mr. Mullen, Taliban are now more equipped, having sophisticated tactics and better insurgency plans. US forces are badly losing the prolonged battle in Afghanistan.
US government has released massive funds for the so-called war on terror in Afghanistan.
More troops are sent to the area in order to contain the Al-Qaeeda and Taliban forces. Six intelligence agencies are working in the region to put a check on Taliban insurgency. All those steps are gone in vain as the forces are increasing their strength in the afghan area as well as on the borders very importantly the southern border close to Pakistan.
Soviets fought war in the area for ten years but in the end they left the area with heavy losses and casualties and due to which the Soviet Union disintegrated. Harsh terrain of the Afghan area is also one of the cause due to which the US Afghan War losing its ground.
Though Obama government is still very hopeful about the war in Afghanistan that they would clear the area from the terrorists but they are unaware of the anti sentiments in Afghanistan for USA. Even in USA the people are not happy with the prolonged war in the region. The Obama regime has yet not achieved the huge target in the area. The polls in USA have shown that the people are against the US led war in Afghanistan.

GOVERNMENT FAILED TO CONTROL PRICE HIKE IN THE PROVINCE
People give vote to their favorite leaders during elections with the hope that this time the new government will provide some relief to the poor citizens of Pakistan. But again poor people are wrong. The new government of NWFP (Pukhtunkhwa) promised the nation after being elected that they would do their best to provide relief but they are failed to deliver their promises.
It is the second Ramadan-ul-Mubarak that started in this government. One would say that God has given them a second chance to make correct policies and do not disappoint the poor nation. Though the government has chalked out various pre-Ramadan plans in order to control the prices but the output is zero. Government issued orders to the wholesale dealers that they should display the rate lists and sell the items according to the displayed rate list. Government took the steps through magistrates and commissioners to ensure crackdown against the hoarders and profiteers. Government also issued orders to open Ramadan bazaars, Itwar bazaars and utility stores in which commodities would be available on low prices for the consumers. Utility stores would be provided sufficient stock of necessary commodities.
On the other hand the situation is totally opposite as the market price and the government set price is completely different. The wholesale dealers and retailers are selling the commodities on their own prices and not on the prices set by the government. Shopkeepers are not displaying the rate lists. The retailers are fleecing the common man in the holy month of Ramadan and there is no one to inquire about the worst situation. The orders of the government regarding the control of prices are ineffective.
Being Muslims and living in an Islamic country, we should perform our duties well during the holy month of Ramadan. But no, there are some people who, for their interest, play with the innocent poor citizens just for some amount of profit. It has now become a trend that prices get high of the daily routine commodities during Ramadan. People of Pakistan are now used to it.
May Good God give a little courage to the responsible officials to correct the system and provide some sort of relief to the people!

WHERE IS KASHMIR IN CURRENT PAKISTAN CRISIS
Pakistan has indulged itself in war against terrorism so much that the core issues are being put aside. Kashmir issue is one of them. Today we are not watching any development in resolution of Kashmir dispute on television channels.
Though a Kashmiri committee is formed that is being supervised by Maulana Fazl-u-Rehman; member of national assembly, JUI chief and the government coalition partner.
He has raised this core issue on the floor of national assembly many times. According to him, US war on terror has changed Pakistan priorities due to which the core issue of Kashmir has been dropped in background.
Prime minister on the other hand, remarked that Kashmir issue is the core pillar of foreign policy of Pakistan. According to our prime minister if any of our Kashmir committee members have any concerns regarding Kashmir issue will be solved. He directed the minister for foreign affairs to brief them and satisfy the committee.
Mr. Prime minister forgets one thing that it is not the problem of Kashmir committee but the issue of Pakistan. Thus instead of giving a brief to the members committee, he should work in order to start high level meetings with India again. CBMs merely facilitate the negotiations as they are unable to solve the disputes on proper level. Thus it is imperative that all constructive proposals should either be countered or new feasible proposals should be placed before the regional and world community.
Pakistani government should raise the issue of Kashmir once again on regional and world level. The Indian government is trying to portray Kashmiri struggle for freedom as terrorist activity in the region. It is the right time for Pakistan to put this agenda on the negotiating table with India. The Pakistani government should not forget the main issue i.e. Kashmir cause while discussing other matters with US authorities. The Indian Kashmiri leader’s hope that Pakistan would carry the process forward and will not disappoint the Kashmiri people.

SUGAR CRISIS IN PAKISTAN 2009
It is not the first ever sugar crisis in Pakistan as we have seen for years that such crisis engulfed our country whether it is sugar, w heat or something else. People of Pakistan are now used to listen and tolerate such painful matters. Unfortunately, none other then our so-called leaders sitting in the governing seats create these issues. We are an agricultural state. A study revealed that sugarcane is the second largest non-food crop after cotton and ranks fifth in respect of acreage. Problems that can cause sugar crisis are as follows:
1) Prolonged drought and heat stress decreased its production by 22 per cent in 1999-2000, and further 17 per cent in 2000-01.
2) There has been confrontation between growers and millers over price. Growers demand higher wages for their raw material and millers complain about increase in production cost and imports.
3) Late crushing causes dissatisfaction as well as financial loss to both, farmers and millers.
4) Other problems are stagnant cane yield, non-payment of dues to growers by mills, and low import parity prices.
During a research it was found that more than 65 per cent farmers have decreased the total area under cane production due to water shortage, behavior of the mills’ management, late payments, increased input cost, and diseases and rodent attack.
Now that there is a decrease in sugar cane crop and thus in sugar production by mills, some mill owners and the profiteers are busy in hoarding sugar. The prices go high with this and in the end the real sufferers are the poor consumers who have to buy the essential amount on a much higher price.
The responsibility lies on the shoulders of the governing bodies. But unfortunately what they do is to issue an order of crack down and call for a committee to make a report and present it in the parliament that is of no use because any committee has not showed effective outcome so far. Though the crack down was made but the real guilty party of hoarding sugar was not brought into justice. The reason is that most of them are sitting in the parliament.
The government has failed in adopting a proper agriculture policy. There is no planning at any level for important crops, including sugarcane, and no monitoring system. Our economic advisors should suggest such a mechanism to the government that enables the local industry to survive while the price of this essential item remains within the reach of the consumers. One way to get out of this perplex situation is to sacrifice on the part of the government either in the shape of withdrawal of sales tax or to give subsidy to this sector as is being practiced in India.
The government should put into trial the real culprits of sugar crisis no matter whoever they are or whatever they may be. They should not be let run away with their crime. Otherwise it would be a shame for our country and people will be compelled to call them “thieves” of the nation.

What is politics all about?
Many many think that politics is a method used by different political parties to take hold of power chair. though thi answer is somewhat correct in context of few states but I believe that plitics is more than that. Politics is a technique that runs the entire world's system.
It is for this reason that politics is also identified as dirty game where one or sometimes more than one state may engange itself in to such activities which would look and appear as humanitarian but infact are harming many other small (mostly under-developed) countries in many ways.

why are the lawyers turning violent?
Are they the same lawyers that contributed to change Pakistan history? If yes then What is ths violence all about. Dont tell me it is another media tactics to make news. Most probably lawyers had been enganged insuch activities before too.
The Bhutto's
I am about to share a number of pictures related to Bhutto family. Though they all are not immediate family of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto but they are related to this great man in some way.
Hope this will be a contribution towards the fans of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in specific and Paksitan"s people Party in general.

Albert Einstein said,
Why Is PPP so quite?

One may wonder that despite the killing of Batiullah, (if he really is dead) why is the government of People’s party so quite. One cannot find any signs of pleasure or celebration on their part. Don’t they remember that it is the same Baitullah who took the responsibility for the assassination of their leader Benazir Bhutto!
Do not interupt your enemy while he is making a mistake. (Nepoleon)
Absolute power and tolerance

Fidel Castro of Cuba, Jamal Abdul Nasser of Egypt, Hitler from Germany, Mussolini of Italy, Stalin from USSR and many more are found in the chapters of history that have exercised absolute power. History is full of references with such individualistic efforts thereby cleansing the society from the evils that have contributed towards destabilizing and hampering injustice through the use of absolute power in various forms and combinations. Though some of them have not achieved to be recognized as super powers, economic giants but still they are narrated in history for there worth mentioning evil or heroic era of exercising absolute power with minimum and maximum support.
Pakistan with a short history after partition has a long tale thereby usage of absolute power has encroached in the operation for most of the time in different governments that have baton to fix Pakistan ending with there end or wealth of the nation. One must not doubt the intentions of any leader or dictator in this respect because the graph of social sector grooming downwards has too witnessed an increase in the graph of uncompleted maturation projects. The maturation projects remained incomplete for cynical reasons varying from inadequate recourses to inappropriate strategic planning’s. Historical perceptions, identity crises, dual standards of education and many more have been primary challenges in Pakistan and all absolute power holders have found them a mean to grasp the control of plane but with no flying skills.
Not only these factors have challenged absolute authority’s power but some external factors too have had there unnecessary roles engaged in politics of Pakistan. A bleeding wound for a super power during bipolarity causing its disintegration unfortunately has the longest border with Pakistan vigorously affecting Pakistan’s economy and infesting its security parameter since long. Amid encountering Afghanistan factor, champion of strategic planning is found engaged under influence of another super power. While supporting its war on terror his absolute power turns into coalition of the willing. The coalition of willing was then dependent for support from the western world in order to prolong its rule any way as a result of defiance. Unable to distinguish or accept one’s diminishing popularity he had to conduct the general elections and in doing so the absolute power was found in face of distrust the entire nation had for him. The implementing priorities has been talked for long in Pakistan and after eight years of continuous unfortunate incidents taking place especially in year 2007 when a bombardment of weak links emerged with the general elections viewed as a pre-poll rigged one; results brought an end to all pre poll allegations and negative apprehensions. One must appreciate the bold stance taken by absolute power in Pakistan. During the campaigning season the indigenous assumptions and ground realities only supported the opposition parties’ statements of an Anarchic situation in Pakistan. And now the elected parties must work towards the maturation of Pakistan and prohibit acting in a stereotypical ways making us a laughing stock and black humor for rest of the world.
Well said by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto that, ‘tolerance is not the monopoly of any religion’. Propagating and humiliating any religion on the basis of an individual or community’s act is intolerance in itself. Provoking public sentiments is a larger sin and sign of intolerance when a religion, culture or historical heritage is targeted for gaining power and subjugating others.
